As there are not a lot of support facilities available to children at school in the local communities the Umthombo Trust initiated this project in order to provide

Project Summary
This project was initially set up as a means to support children in their
final year of primary
school and the first year of Secondary. Umthombo was approached by some concerned parents
who explained that children often found the transition to senior/secondary school very difficult.
A retired teacher was hired to help students with both their homework and to fill any gaps from
their primary school years education.
This was a short-term project that we would be prepared to re-initiate depending on the demand
from the local community.
